Historique du nom: La Catrocière, La Catroucière (1485, 1495, Archives 37, G, Charentilly), La Catrousière (1751, acte Pallu/Tours), La Catrousiere (XVIIIe siècle, Carte de Cassini), La Catrousière (1796, acte Archambault/Semblançay), La Catroussière (1820, Carte de l'état-major), La Catrousière (1827, Cadastre), La Catrousière (1933, Cadastre), La Catroussière (2013, Carte IGN).

Ce domaine devait une rente à l'abbaye de Marmoutier. Dans un acte de 1751, il est considéré comme un fief de La Roche-Buard.
